We are writing this letter to acknowledge the outstanding assistance we have received from Tri Ma at United Healthcare over the past several months. He did not ask us to do this. We told him we wanted to send a letter of appreciation and asked him how to address it. For the past several months, Tri has been guiding us through the health insurance rules and regulations at United Healthcare on behalf of our mother and mother-in-law Miriam Clurman. Miriam, age 99, has had Medicare supplemental insurance from United Healthcare for many years. Her status changed in October 2018 when she went into a nursing facility and subsequently applied for Medicaid. We have spoken with many health care providers for Miriam over the years and never have encountered anyone more clear, caring and responsive than Tri. At one point, he even answered one of our phone inquiries while waiting to board an airplane! His answers and explanations always were presented clearly and patiently, with an above-average grasp of the intricacies of insurance rules. Tri is one in a million. We wish every company had a person like him to answer queries and actually care that the client understands his explanations. He was a shining light during a time of upheaval in our family, and we will always be grateful to him.
